Most seniors live on a fixed income and cannot afford more than the necessities, such as food, toiletries, and housing costs. These individuals may request certain items just like the rest of us. If they do not have loved ones who can purchase these items, they may never receive them.

You can help us to ensure that several seniors get some of the items on their Christmas lists this year by participating in our Stocking Stuffers for Seniors program.

When you participate in the program, you will choose one of two options.

Option 1: We will match you up with a local senior and provide you with a list of items that a senior has on his or her wishlist. You can purchase the items on the list and then drop them off at a designated time, where they will be wrapped and handed over to the senior who requested them.

Option 2: You may donate cash towards the purchase of items that a senior has on his or her wishlist. One of our volunteers will purchase the items on the list and wrap them prior to handing them over to the senior who requested them.

Stocking Stuffers for Seniors is a great way to anonymously provide a gift to a needy senior who could use a bit of extra help, or cheer, during the holiday season.

Indicate your interest in participating by submitting the form above “I WANT TO PARTICIPATE”. We will email you a list containing a local senior's gift request. Purchase your gift and drop it off at the designated time and location. We will collect and deliver the gifts to the community.

If you are unable to shop you may donate cash which our volunteers will use to purchase the items on your senior’s wishlist. We will wrap and deliver the gifts to your senior.

We request that only new, unused items be gifted to ours seniors. The recommended spending, per senior, is $25-$40. To ensure fairness, and to allow us to support the maximum number of seniors, please do not spend more that $40.

Organized by Salt Spring Island residents Sylvia Andress and Brad Hefferon, this program is supported by local volunteers and community members just like you.
